Philip Van Dyke
Director of Sports Residency, Assistant Clinical Professor Residency Email: vandyke@uiwtx.eduPhilip Van Dyke is a board-certified clinical specialist in both sports and orthopedic physical therapy. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science in 2012 from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2016 from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He went on to complete a residency in sports physical therapy at ATI Physical Therapy (formerly Proaxis Therapy) in Greenville, South Carolina.
Prior to starting with UIW, Philip worked as a clinician in an outpatient orthopedic setting and as a faculty member for Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System's sports and orthopedic physical therapy residency programs in Spartanburg, SC. As part of his clinical role, he helped to develop and implement return-to-sport testing and programming for athletes recovering from lower extremity injuries. As a residency faculty member, he taught on evaluation and treatment of the knee and return to sport from upper and lower extremity injuries. He served as a mentor for sports physical therapy residents and facilitated development and submission of physical therapy case reports for sports and orthopedic physical therapy residents.
Philip has also been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2014, and he maintains memberships in the American Physical Therapy Association and American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy.
