The UIW School of Rehabilitation Sciences Admissions Committee reviews completed applications holistically based on many factors, including but not limited to: academic history, GRE scores, letters of recommendation and service and leadership in the community.

Application Steps for School of Rehabilitation Sciences Programs

1. Know the Application Deadlines

The Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS) application opens June 1, 2024. To meet the priority application deadline, please submit your application by Aug. 31, 2024. The Fall 2024 application deadline is Feb. 17, 2025.

2. Complete the PTCAS Application

We encourage you to complete and submit your application as soon as possible through PTCAS at ptcas.org. Pay PTCAS application fee and supplemental fees as applicable. Applicants who complete and submit their application to the program before Aug. 31 will have the supplemental fee waived for the 2024-2025 cycle. After Aug. 31, applicants must pay the $50 supplemental application fee. Click here to pay the Supplemental Application Fee of $50. Students that pay the supplemental application fee before Aug. 31 will not be issued refunds. Current UIW students, UIW Alumni, and re-applicants do not have to pay the $50 Supplemental Application Fee.

3. Submit Official College Transcripts

Submit all official college transcripts to PTCAS. You do not need to send transcripts to the University. The average GPA for the last three (3) cohorts admitted was 3.41, with an average Science GPA of 3.41.

4. Submit Official GRE Test Scores to PTCAS

Send official test scores to PTCAS using GRE Code 0341. Scores sent directly to UIW or entered in PTCAS by applicants will not be reviewed. A GRE score of 150 for each component (quantitative and verbal) is strongly recommended. The Verbal GRE score is a strong predictor of success in the program.

5. Submit Letters of Reference

Submit three letters of reference to PTCAS. At least one letter must be from a licensed physical therapist.

6. Submit Observation Hours

Minimum of 50 verified observation hours in at least two different physical therapy settings, focusing on different physical therapy specialties (ex. neuromuscular, orthopedic, pediatric, geriatric, sports, etc.).

Those considered most competitive will be invited to an admissions interview.

The Occupational Therapist Centralized Application Service (OTCAS) application opens July 22, 2024. To meet the priority application deadline, please submit your application by Aug. 31, 2024. The Fall 2025 application deadline is June 6, 2025.

2. Complete the OTCAS Application

We encourage you to complete and submit your application as soon as possible through the OTCAS at otcas.org. Pay OTCAS application fee and supplemental fees as applicable. Applicants who complete and submit their application to the program before Aug. 31 will have the supplemental fee waived for the 2024-2025 cycle. After Aug. 31, applicants must pay the $50 supplemental application fee. Click here to pay the Supplemental Application Fee of $50. 3. Submit Official College Transcripts

Submit all official college transcripts to OTCAS. You do not need to send transcripts to the University. The recommended overall GPA is a 3.0 and 2.9 prerequisite GPA. Applicants must earn a C or higher in prerequisite courses.

4. Submit Letters of Reference

Submit three letters of reference to OTCAS. At least one letter must be from a licensed occupational therapist or other healthcare professional.

5. Submit Observation Hours

A minimum of 50 verified observation hours with an occupational therapist or occupational therapist assistant is recommended. Up to 20 observation hours may be completed using clinedweb.com (fees apply). 

Those considered most competitive will be invited to an admissions interview.

1. Know the Application Deadlines

The Athletic Training Centralized Application Service (ATCAS) application opens July 15, 2024. To meet the priority application deadline, please submit your application by Jan. 16, 2025. The Summer 2025 application deadline is June 12, 2025.

2. Complete the ATCAS Application

We encourage you to complete and submit your application as soon as possible through ATCAS at atcas.org. Pay ATCAS application fee and supplemental fees as applicable.

3. Submit Official College Transcripts

Submit all official college transcripts to ATCAS. You do not need to send transcripts to the University. A minimum 2.7 Cumulative GPA and 2.7 Prerequisite GPA are required. Must earn a C or higher in prerequisite courses.

4. Required Supplemental Items

Letter of intent and resume must be submitted with ATCAS application.

5. Submit Letters of Reference

Strong References - Submit two letters of recommendation through ATCAS. Applicants are highly encouraged to submit at least one letter of recommendation from a certified Athletic Trainer.

6. Submit Observation Hours

Minimum of 50 verified observation hours under a certified Athletic Trainer must be completed.
