Our Learning Approach
Learn Like a Physical Therapist from Day One
Healthcare is complex. Your education should prepare you for that reality.
UIW DPT’s integrated educational approaches include the use of patient cases guided inquiry, direct instruction, active learning, and problem-based learning principles to deepen clinical reasoning. This approach will allow you to think critically, ask better questions, and make evidence-based decisions.
With guidance from experienced faculty, you will:
- Analyze realistic patient scenarios
- Research current evidence and best practices
- Collaborate with peers to identify and solve clinical challenges
- Develop confidence in patient care decision-making
- Build skills employers value in today's healthcare environment
By graduation, you will have practiced the process of clinical reasoning many times which is the same process you will use with your future patients.
