Lauren Peyton, PhD
Academic Success Counselor
Dr. Peyton joined the UIW School of Rehabilitation Sciences as the Academic Success Counselor in the spring of 2023. She has a Ph.D. in Adult, Professional and Community Education from Texas State University, a master's degree in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Houston-Downtown, and a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of St. Thomas. Previously, she worked as a doctoral research assistant, a graduate consultant and workshop coordinator at the Writing Center at Texas State University, and as an Academic Success Coach. In 2021, she was awarded the Civic Newman Fellowship due to her work as a volunteer in her community. Dr. Peyton is extremely passionate about helping students reach their goals and truly enjoys getting to know the students that she is assisting. In her free time, Dr. Peyton likes to bake, read and listen to podcasts. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, Odin and Archie.
