Lisa McDougle

In October 2013, Dr. McDougle joined the School of Rehabilitation Sciences as the Assistant Dean for Academic Success and Student Affairs. In this role, she oversees academic success initiatives, student leadership and programming, student resources and services, recruitment and admissions, and special events. Previously she served as Assistant Dean for Student Success with the School of Health Professions from 2010-2013 and as the Director of Student Life from 2002-2010 at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Prior to her arrival at UTHSCSA, Dr. McDougle served as the director of residence life at St. Mary's University. During her career, she has helped students be successful through new student orientation, leadership programming, peer mentoring, wellness and recreational sports, judicial affairs, and student organizations and events.
Dr. McDougle earned two undergraduate degrees in accounting and business administration as well as a masters in human relations and supervision, all from Louisiana Tech University. In December 2009 she earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
Dr. McDougle has been active in professional and community organizations. From October 2014-October 2015, she served as the President for the Texas Association of College and University Student Personnel Administrators (TACUSPA) and has been active with their foundation board, annual conferences and other association activities. She is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church (PCUSA). She has served as chair of the Alamo Area Council of Governments Regional Law Enforcement Academy Advisory Committee, served as a mentor at an elementary school, and been active with various community service events.
