The entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum requires participation in four full-time professional practice education (clinical) experiences totaling 44 weeks. Students participate in at least one inpatient and one outpatient experience. Each student is placed into a series of settings that enable them to learn about patients with various musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and cardiopulmonary pathologies in various age groups.
Clinical instruction takes place in several learning labs:
- Foundational Sciences
- Cardiovascular and Pulmonary
- Musculoskeletal
- Neuromuscular
- Movement and Gait Analysis
- Physical Rehabilitation Clinic
Professional practice opportunities are available in Texas, throughout the United states, and internationally. Many students also participate in international immersion opportunities.
