OTD Tuition and Financial Assistance

During Year 1 of the program, students will complete 18 credit hours during Fall 2023 and 20 credit hours during Spring 2024 and 10 credit hours during Summer 2024. 48 credit hours should be successfully completed by the end of Year 1.

During Year 2 of the program, students will complete 18 credit hours during Fall 2024 and Spring 2025, and 9 credit hours during Summer 2025. 45 credit hours should be successfully completed by the end of Year 2.

During Year 3 of the program, students will complete 9 credit hours during Fall 2025 and 12 credit hours during Spring 2026. 21 credit hours should be successfully completed by the end of Year 3.

114 credit hours should be successfully completed by the end of the program.

The UIW OTD program offers a Dean’s Scholarship (award amounts vary). This scholarship is given to students that display an excellent academic record and score well in their interviews, financial need may also be considered. 

*The school Dean awards this scholarship. There is no application for this scholarship. 

Achieve Today will be offering two scholarships throughout the year. Gifts totaling $2,000 will be awarded annually. Each semester (spring and fall) one recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship to the institution of their choice. Recipients are only eligible to receive the scholarship once during their lifetime. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and a current student of an accredited US university or college. 

The fund for the E. K. Wise scholarship was established in the 1960s through the generous bequest of Elizabeth K. Wise and supports students pursuing an entry-level occupational therapy (OT) or occupational therapy assistant (OTA) degree from diverse backgrounds. Yearly, three awards will be granted in the amount of $2,500. Students may apply for a second year.

Qualified applicants must: 

• Be enrolled (or accepted) in an ACOTE® entry-level OT or OTA program on a full-time basis
• Be enrolled in the program for the full academic year they are applying to
• Be in good academic standing
• Demonstrate leadership and community service
• Be a current member of AOTA at the time of the application and presentation of award
• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

The Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions sponsors a scholarship program for health professions students enrolled in its member schools. The selected student will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Students must be nominated for this scholarship. The Perecman Firm, P.L.L.C., is offering a $5,000 scholarship for a student living with autism, or whose loved one is living with autism.

The Avonte Oquendo Memorial Scholarship is open to high-achieving students who meet two key criteria:

• Either you or a close family member has been diagnosed with a form of autism, including Asperger syndrome, and
• Applicant must be an enrolled student at an accredited college, university, or vocational school, or be accepted to begin school at an accredited college, university, or vocational school in the semester for which the application is being offered.

Café Bustelo^® aims to invest in the Latino community by awarding scholarships to those who seek better futures for themselves, their families and their communities by awarding twenty-five $5,000 scholarships to college students at HACU-member institutions to help further their education.

To qualify for the scholarship program, you must meet the following conditions:

• Full-time undergraduate or graduate students of Latino descent - Open to all majors  
• Must be 18 years or older 
• Currently enrolled at a HACU-member institution within the United States, D.C. and Puerto Rico.
• Internet access and a valid e-mail address are required to apply

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is pleased to be the administrator of scholarship opportunities provided by their partners to assist in defraying some of your college expenditures.

General Scholarship Criteria: 

All scholarship applicants MUST meet the initial scholarship program criteria. 

You are eligible to apply if you:

• Are currently enrolled at a HACU-member institution in the U.S. or Puerto Rico
• Have graduated from a high school (or have earned a high school equivalency diploma) in the U.S. or Puerto Rico
• Have completed your first-semester of college at a HACU-member institution

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be of Hispanic heritage

• U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA 

• Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students

• Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the US, for the academic year in which they are apply for

The IHS Scholarship Program provides qualified American Indian and Alaska Native health professions students an opportunity to establish an educational foundation for each stage of your pre-professional careers.

Since IHS began providing scholarship support to American Indian and Alaska Native students to pursue health profession careers in 1978, the program has grown to support, educate and place health care professionals within medically underserved Indian health programs throughout the continental United States and Alaska. 

The scholarship program provides financial support in exchange for a minimum two-year service commitment within an Indian health program in your chosen health professional discipline.

Since 1976 IOKDS awards annual Health Career Scholarships for students studying at a US or Canadian accredited college/university. IOKDS believes that contributing to the education of compassionate healthcare workers assists in fulfilling IOKDS's mission of caring for all God’s children of all ages and circumstances through service In His Name.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Medical and dental students who have completed their first professional year (pre-med students not eligible)
• Pharmacy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy and medical technology students who have completed a minimum of two years of study with preference to those in master's or doctorate degree programs.
• Students studying to become registered nurses or nurse practitioners—Associate degree must have completed one year; bachelor or master’s degrees–must have completed two years of study.
• Students are eligible for a maximum of three years with good academic standing and annual re-application.

Established in 1975, LNESC and LULAC created the LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF) to help youth in underserved communities make the dream of college enrollment a reality. LNSF is a unique partnership between grassroots advocates and corporations that fund educational opportunities for deserving youth across the U.S. Every dollar raised by local LULAC Councils is matched by corporate partners secured by LNESC, increasing the amount given in both the council and corporate names.

Eligibility Requirements:

 Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for a scholarship:

• Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or be granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
• Must have applied to or be enrolled as a full-time student in a college or university, including 2-year colleges, or vocational schools that lead to an associate’s degree. Graduate students must have applied to or be enrolled as a part-time student in a college or university.
• A student will not be eligible for a scholarship if he/she is related to a scholarship committee member, the Council President, or an individual contributor to the local funds of the Council.

• Locations: In 2022-23, sixty-two (62) LULAC Councils participated from the following:  Arizona, Arkansas, California, District of Columbia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.

Award Criteria:

Applicants are eligible for the following three types of scholarship awards:

• National Scholastic Achievement Awards ($2,000) - The student has a GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
• Honors Awards ($500 to $2,000) - The student has a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
• General Awards ($250 to $1,000) - Grades and academic performance will serve as indicators; however, emphasis may be placed on the individual’s motivation, sincerity, and integrity, which can best be revealed through a personal interview and in the personal essay. Need, community involvement, and leadership activities will also be considered.

The Macy’s Emergency Scholarship Fund is a joint partnership between LNESC & Macy’s to provide financial resources to deserving students facing economic hardship and immediate monetary need that, if not met, could result in an inability to complete classes or a degree program.

Emergency financial need resulting from the following will qualify students for funding:

• Change in family income/support
• Loss of job
• Death of an immediate family member
• Natural disaster
• Pending eviction or home foreclosure
• Burglary
• Fire

*Poor financial choices do not constitute emergency financial need (e.g. credit card debit, poor use of financial aid funding, personal loans to family or friends).

Macy’s Emergency Scholarship Funds are non-renewable and applicants cannot be recipients of other LULAC National Educational Service Centers (LNESC) Scholarships at the time of application. Award amounts vary based on need, but should not exceed $500.

To be eligible to apply, students must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a resident of California, Florida, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Puerto Rico, or Texas
• Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university and in good standing
• Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent

The Pat Tillman Foundation identifies remarkable military service members, veterans and spouses, empowering them with academic scholarships, lifelong leadership development opportunities and a diverse, global community of high-performing mentors and peers. Our scholars are making an impact as they lead through action in the fields of healthcare, business, public service, STEM, education and the humanities.

This scholarship is available to active duty service members, veterans and military spouses. 

Over 50 scholarships are available from the American Occupational Therapy Foundation and state occupational therapy associations. Applicants complete only one online form to apply for all qualifying scholarships.

Students in their Capstone semester may be eligible to apply. Awards will be limited to $5,000 and will be awarded each year at a TOTF event during the annual Texas Occupational Therapy Association (TOTA) conference.

The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship creates opportunities for family members of service members and Veterans to achieve their educational dreams. The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship is available each year in spring and fall.

To qualify for the scholarship program, you must meet one of the following conditions:

• The applicant is a veteran with 100% service connected disability
• The applicant is a surviving spouse of a deceased servicemember from a service-related death
• The applicant is a surviving child of a deceased servicemember from a service-related death

Other requirements: 

• Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university for the upcoming semester
• Pursuing an associate's, bachelor's, graduate, post-graduate or doctoral degree
• Comfortable with sharing personal stories and aspirations with Veterans United Foundation
• Able to provide the following within three business days of application submission:
  • Deceased parent or spouse's military documents (DD214 and death certificate /or DD1300)
  • Official benefit letter showing disability rating (if applicable)
  • Full FAFSA submission
  • Proof of enrollment from your accredited college or university
  • Government-issued photo ID
• Able to provide Veterans United Foundation with receipts or invoices related to eligible educational costs as they are incurred in order to receive payment. Eligible costs include tuition, books, fees, school materials and some aspects of room and board as determined by Veterans United Foundation.
